In the Kingdom of God we are known and found: 2019 TST theme

We are so excited about this summer in TST. Our theme is The Kingdom, and we will be talking about how in The Kingdom of God we are known and found. Through the stories Jesus told like the prodigal son and through the stories of people Jesus interacted with we will gain a better understanding of God’s hope for the world.

We know that these days the world is a crazy place to be a teenager, every day is full of questions, what should I wear? Who are my friends? What is for lunch? Who can I trust? What kind of person do I want to be? Where do I want to go to college? It’s a never-ending stream of thoughts and it’s easy to get swept away in all the worrying.

During our week or two at camp we will be looking at what God has to say about who we are and how that can change how we live our lives. We will be exploring our God given identity and figuring out how to grow more into who we are created to be. We will discuss the role each of us has in revealing God’s kingdom on earth and how when we follow Jesus we always have a place to belong.

We think it is important that everyone knows that they can find a place in the kingdom of God. No one has to pretend to be something they are not just to fit in and we don’t have to look any further for a place to belong because the kingdom has room for everyone.

We also think it’s important for everyone to know they are known, there is a place that we can show up, fully as ourselves and be accepted and understood because we are in the home of the God who created us.

Our hope is that each and every camper in TST this summer has an experience where they have a better understanding of who Jesus is and grow closer in their relationship with him, and we are excited to do that through exploring how we are known and found in The Kingdom of God.
