Juniors 4th-6th Grade Retreats

Upside Down

When Jesus came, preaching and healing and serving, it wasn't at all what the world was expecting. Jesus turned their idea of an earthly kingdom upside down and instead built a Kingdom based on humility and service. This year at Juniors', we'll focus on the concepts in Philippians 2:5-11 and Mark 10:45, and explore the example of Christ and his upside down Kingdom through age-appropriate teaching, fun interactive content, times for small group processing, and high energy praise and worship.

The Fall Juniors Retreats is a great annual tradition for a lot of Children's Ministries to come and boost their Fall programming. There is nothing better in the spiritual life a child than to set markers and milestones in their life that they can look back to.

Juniors Retreats does exactly that. We take kids out of the norm, break them out of routine, and allow God to break into their lives in a real and profound way. And since having fun is a key component to development, we bring a whole lot of that too.

Juniors 1: November 4-6, 2011, Nick Dilberto, music by KC and the Gloworms (FULL)

Nick Diliberto wears two preteen ministry hats: he's a preteen ministry pastor in San Diego, California and he runs preteenministry.net in cyberspace and writes for FourFiveSix.org Along with the content he writes for these sites, he also writes the preteen column for Children's Ministry magazine (that's a lot of writing!). He enjoys surfing, skateboarding, reading and pointlessly riding around in his Jeep Wrangler! He is married with three kids, one of whom is approaching the preteen years.

Juniors 2: November 11-13, 2011, Sean Sweet, music by Joe Vercellino

Sean Sweet joined the staff of Sunset Christian Center as the Children's Pastor in July 2003 after teaching 4th and 5th grade in the Western Placer Unified School District for seven years. Sean oversaw the creation of a ministry specifically for 4th and 5th grade students, separate from the children's ministry called Elevate. As the full time Preteen Pastor, Sean is developing an incredible ministry targeting solely preteens. He lives in Lincoln, California with his beautiful wife and two daughters.

Juniors 3: November 18-20, 2011, Patrick Snow, music by Dan Vukmirovich

Patrick Snow works at Christ in Youth where he is the director of SuperStart!, a national touring weekend event for preteens. Through SuperStart! Patrick uses his creative talents to teach and speak to over 8,000 thousand preteens throughout the year. Patrick is also author of the book Leading Preteens. Patrick is incredibly passionate about helping the local church grow in its ministry to preteens and to help stop the growing loss of students in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade age bracket.
