what are SpringHill Day Camps?
We create a SpringHill experience at Day Camps by purposeful, child-
oriented activities, building trusting relationships with them, and turning
everything into an environment that is child-centered and a model of God's
love for His people. As a Day Camp Counselor, you will create a one-week
experience for a child that can be the foundation of his or her life with
Christ.
To be on SpringHill Day Camp's team means to be pioneering a way to reach
more kids for Christ. Our smaller staff size will allow us to know one
another and learn together as we pour out our lives for children and
Christ. We will work as a united team to accomplish our mission and to
bring all the glory to God.

Your role is to encourage the kids to participate as well as debrief the activity. You are encouraged to communicate with parents during drop off and pick up about their camper's day. After the kids leave, you will have and end of the day assignment.
Throughout the summer there will be a variety of activities and outings that the staff will get to hang out and participate in. Because day camp ends each day at 5:30 p.m. and weekends are free, many of our staff enjoy hanging out with each other after hours. There was a strong sense of community amongst the staff because their was time to form solid friendships with each other.
Every Wednesday throughout the summer, there will be a "Higher Ground" night starting at 6:00PM with dinner provided. This is a specific time set aside each week to worship, pray, and grow together as a staff.

A special needs counselor is a co-counselor in a cabin group that is
knowledgeable in how to care for a special needs camper in that cabin.
He/she will assume all the counselor responsibilities, and also assure that
the entire special needs camper's social, emotional, and physical needs are
being met. This counselor must look for creative ways to adapt lessons to
the camper's level and insure that inclusion is taking place in the area.
A special needs counselor must have a heart for special needs children, a
servant's attitude, and some experience in working with special needs
children.
