history
Started in 1969, SpringHill offers a distinctive camping experience for kids and teens. Creative housing, exciting activities, and scriptural teaching are the basis that we are built on.
Originally known as SpringHill Farms, a Shetland Pony Farm, the property was a recreational get away for Collie and Pearl Decker. Mr. Decker dreamed of developing the 515 acres into a boys’ camp. After Mr. Decker's untimely death, Mrs. Decker decided to sell the property with a desire to fulfill her husband's dream, which led to the beginning of SpringHill Camp. Enoch Olson was the first camp director.
Amidst much excitement, 250 campers came that first summer. Through the years, there has been much development and growth. Programs have been added, including the Day Camps, which can bring the SpringHill experience right to your hometown. In 1999, another SpringHill location was added in southern Indiana. With 730 acres, SpringHill Indiana can further advance the vision that makes SpringHill Camps successful. Now, each year, over 14,000 children and teens are told the gospel through fun activities and a great time.

Staff Selection
We have searched the country high and low for the most amazing and caring staff just for your child. We strive to find a staff that is spiritually, mentally and emotionally mature to ensure that not only is your child in good hands, but in good hearts. Each staff member has been personally interviewed, reference checked and background checked before they even set foot on the property. Once here, they receive from 40-80 hours of intensive job specific training. In every area, safety is our first concern for your child, so every activity is checked and double-checked.
Educational Method
We want your child to have the best experience during their week at camp so we keep our counselor to camper ratio to one counselor for every seven campers. For our younger campers, that ratio is even lower: one counselor to every five campers. Our counselors and activity staff use a variety of methods to appropriately communicate spiritual truths, including morning devotions, skits, teachable moments, interactive Bible lessons, and campfires.
Inclusion
Part of our mission at SpringHill is to let every kid who wants to come
to camp come. Inclusion is about participating and belonging, therefore
we put forth every effort to make camp a place where every child is
welcome and has the chance to experience all that we have to offer.
Our program is designed for children with varied abilities. We want
your camper to have a fulfilling camp experience which may include
providing specially trained staff, transportation, and specific housing
if needed. If appropriate, our Inclusion Coordinator will contact you
for more information.
Core Values
We are about Jesus and His message.
We are about children, teens and young adults.
We think "lost" and "how can we reach them?"
We are committed to being relevant, having personal loving and caring relationships and exceeding expectations.
SpringHill's Mission is to change the lives of young people by creating environments and developing communities in which they experience the message of Jesus Christ within the context of personal loving relationships and memorable learning experiences.
What we believe
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be inherently inspired of God and our only authority in matters of Christian faith and practice.
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son, is fully God and fully human. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. His sinless life, voluntary substitutionary death, shed blood and bodily resurrection were necessary and sufficient for the redemption of man. He will visibly return to earth in glory to consummate His Kingdom.
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God. Through His power and presence, He is the effective agent in the new birth. Through His indwelling, He empowers the believer for godly living and service.
We believe that man was created by God in His image as a moral and rational being. The historic fall of man into sin and his disobedience, individually and corporately, produced divine condemnation.
We believe that only those who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus Christ are saved, having been born again of the Holy Spirit, forgiven and declared righteous by God.
We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who have trusted in Jesus Christ for their salvation, and that involvement in a local church is normative for a growing believer.
We believe the redeemed will be resurrected bodily to the everlasting presence and enjoyment of God, and the unredeemed will be resurrected to judgment and everlasting punishment.
