SpringHill has a long history of delivering an outstanding camp experience to campers and families. You can find out more about the history at this website, springhillcamps.com/IN/about
SpringHill Indiana offers a number of programs throughout the year. Summer camp, day camp, Labor Day family camp, men's and women's retreats, father/son, and father/daughter retreats, as well as one Jr. High programmed retreat. We also have guest group capacity throughout the fall season for groups of all ages and sizes.
We have a team of energetic, Christ-centered college students that provide an amazing experience for your camper. Our summer staff are hired after completing an application, screening interview, background checks, and providing multiple references. These staff members will have completed our training program, which includes camper care, behavior management and preventing and/or identifying child abuse.
While your child is at camp, we level the playing field. We group campers based on age. They travel with this cabin the entire week. Our counselors emphasize the importance of teamwork and respect.
The mission of SpringHill is to create life-impacting experiences that enable young people to know and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Day Camp is a place to have fun, make friends and learn more about God. We will openly promote who God is and share Biblical truths from God's Word each and every day at camp through worship, music, prayer and small groups. However, we respect each individual camper's right to make their own decision regarding this important spiritual matter. Every staff member is a follower of Christ and will model Jesus-like character.
If your child will be attending more than one week of camp in the same program, the experience will be similar. If they register for a different program, the activities and experience will be different. They will also have different cabin mates and different counselors the second week.
We do enforce a no tolerance policy at camp. All counselors are trained in our behavior management and anti-bullying policy. If a behavior does arise that causes a disturbance: the child is removed from the situation, there is a very caring conversation about a change in behavior. We partner with the camper to come up with a solution that works for everyone, grace is given, and consequences are enforced, if necessary. At no point will corporal punishment be allowed. If there is no change in the camper's behavior, the Camp Director will call the child's parent/guardian and discuss the options.
During the registration process one of the steps gives you the ability to request a roommate for your child. If you choose to invite a friend or relative to be in the same cabin as your camper, you will need to include the campers name and parents email address. An invitation email will be sent to the parents and they can deny or accept the invitation. This invitation will include a code that the parents will use to accept the teammate invitation. When you log into the parent zone, you will be able to see if the invitation has been accepted or is still pending. In order for the campers to be connected to each other, the invitation HAS to be accepted. The invitation can be accepted even if you have not finished the registration process.
We depend upon volunteer physicians, nurses and EMTs as well as employ Health Officers for summer camp sessions. The medical staff respond to emergencies, distribute medications and provide basic first aid care for our resident campers.
We ask that you send sunscreen with your camper. Our counselors will ask them to re-apply sunscreen after lunch if the cabin is scheduled to be outside. We encourage campers to bring a water bottle to camp. We provide water coolers at the outdoor activities.
No. You will need to complete the camper's Health Form/Power of Attorney in the Parent Zone on our website two weeks prior to arrival at camp.
You can pay by cash, check or credit card. A $150 deposit is required to register. During the first week of May, final payment will be withdrawn from your financial institution that you provided during registration process. If you register after the first week in May, you will need to pay for camp in full.
If cancellation is made after registration, it is forfeiture of your deposit. Cancellations within 21 days prior to camp start date will result in forfeiture of one half the cost of camp. No-shows for a scheduled camp will result in forfeiture of the full camp fee. Cancellations must be requested in writing (mail, e-mail or fax). Refunds will be mailed in the form of a check within 4 weeks of cancellation.
When any of the camps reach their capacity, we will create a waitlist. This list is filtered by the date that you register your child. You will be contacted when a spot becomes available. If there are no remaining spots for that camp, we encourage you to look at the other camps that are offered.
Yes! If you have three or more campers from the same family, each will receive a $50 discount.
Yes. The Trading Post is open during check-in and on closing day for parents and visitors. Each camper will visit the Trading Post daily. Snacks and drinks are available for your child to purchase, along with many low cost souvenir items, as well as SpringHill attire. Typical spending is approximately $20-$30.
You need to complete your camper's health form. If you choose to request a friend to be with your child, that request will have to be made and confirmed one week prior to the start of camp. We require that any camper balance be paid in full.
The goal of registration on Sunday is to make sure all camper forms are collected and completed, medication is dropped off and any outstanding balance is paid. You will also get to meet your child's counselors. The entire process should only last about 60 minutes. After you drop off your camper with their counselor, you are free to leave.
You will need to bring a photo I.D. with you to the check-out process. On Friday and Saturday the check-out will start at 10:30 AM-11:00 AM. From 11:00 AM-1:00 PM we will have our closing ceremonies. At 11:00 we will have a big rally, which you will be able to see your camper up on stage. After the big rally you will be able to hear about your child's week at camp with their cabin and counselor. They will be handing out awards to each child.
For our 3-day program for Jr. Explorer and Camp Classic, check-in on Sunday or Wednesday. On Wednesday the check-in will be at 10:00 AM. The Tuesday check-out will start at 4:30 PM.
