i wish God would tell me

41_Yellow_SH_iconDear Gracie,
I worry that I am going to die in my sleep. I am a Christian and I know that I'd go to heaven if I died but that doesn't seem to help. I still feel panicked at night and can't get to sleep. How can I stop thinking about this?
From No Sleep

Dear No Sleep,
When our minds start worrying about things we can't control (including things that are very unlikely to happen), a wall of fear surrounds us. This is definitely not fun and often leaves us feeling lonely as well. In the Bible, Jesus tells his followers, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matt. 11:30) The good news is that you can still take advantage of this awesome promise today! Before you get into bed, pray and ask God to fill your mind with good, pure thoughts and to take away your worries and fears. Believe that he will do it! Also, ask your mom or dad to pray with you and for you. God loves for us to talk to him and he promises to hear us when we do. Sweet dreams!
Love, Gracie

hey springhill camper!

82_Fuchsia_SH_iconWhat’s better than the sound of a pencil sharpening? How about the sound of your pulley ripping down the zipline? Summer’s over and the leaves crunching under your new shoes might be the highlight of the fall, but memories of your SpringHill summer live on! So, tell your friends how you scaled a 40-foot wall, took a thrill ride down the mighty gusher and blobbed your little heart out. Then get back to SpringHill as soon as you can (and bring a friend or a whole youth group with you!). In the meantime, get answers to tough questions and learn more about why your stuff doesn’t matter and how much you do. The Hopper has a lot of great things to say this month, so read on and talk back!

what's happening at springhill indiana

Get ready for an amazing weekend of music at SpringHill! Will you be in 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grade this fall? If so, be sure to tell your Sunday school teacher or youth leader about the SpringHill Juniors Retreat! Come to SpringHill with your youth group or Sunday school class October 12-14 for a weekend of out-of-this-world activities, mind-blowing time with friends and God, and the heart-thumping live music. Ask your youth leader to visit the SpringHill website to get your group on board today!

how much do I matter to God?

“Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable are you than birds!" Luke 12:24

You are precious
more precious than all the money, houses, games, and toys in the world. You are precious not because you have lots of money, a big house, the latest games, or the coolest toys. You are not precious because you are popular and have lots of friends. You are not even precious because you are good. You are precious even when you are not so good. You are precious because God says it is so and loves you in every moment. So you can stop worrying about whether you have cool clothes or the right toys and games. You can stop worrying about how important you are. You are very important because you are God's.

Some questions and answers to share with your parents: What makes you feel important? How do you know that God thinks you are precious? How can you remember that you are important to God when you worry about whether people like you or think you are cool? If every person is precious to God, how should we act toward others?

sevenglory unplugged

82_Blue_SH_iconIf you're coming to the SpringHill Music Festival this month, you'll be able to see and hear this awesome band LIVE! Get a peek at what's coming on why Sevenglory does what they do, what's on their new album and what keeps them close to God.

The Hopper: Why are you in a band?
Sevenglory: (Gabe/drummer) I like to hit things with sticks. (Fred/lead vocals) We love to play music, but we also love to use that little bit of time we have to be in front of people to help encourage them.

The Hopper: Your new album is due out in a few weeks. Any songs you'd want to tell us about?
Sevenglory: One of the songs is called "Show Me the Light" It's a song about not just sharing your faith and the message of the Gospel with your friends, but about being who God has called you to be. You can be light to your friends by making good choices and being bold enough to say, "This is what I stand for."

The Hopper: Fame can draw people away from God. How do you stay on the right track?
Sevenglory:
(Fred) Every day I want to do my best. I want to look back a year from now and say, hey, I wasn't the best person but I did a much better job this year of being what I feel God wants me to be. I might have messed up and I might not have made all the best choices, but this next year I'm going to try even harder. I want God to be proud of me, and the more we do that, the more he's going to show us what kind of life we can really have.
